The NL West was in an all out arms race just before Friday's MLB trade deadline. A lot of pressure was on the San Francisco Giants, following the news of the Dodgers acquiring Max Scherzer and Padres acquiring Adam Frazier. Farhan Zaidi and the Giants were not going to miss their opportunity to improve their lineup with the Chicago Cubs in fire sale mode. The Giants pulled off a trade to bring former league MVP Kris Bryant into town on an expiring contract. Bryant is slashing .279/ .378 / .508 on the year with 18 home runs and an all-star game selection to his name. Bryant is able to fill in at third while Evan Longoria recovers from a shoulder injury and fills a huge hole in the Giants outfield. The Giants currently have the best record in baseball but does the addition of Bryant make them true contenders? #SFGiants #Giants #KrisBryant #SanFranciscoGiants #MLB #MLBNews
